the weekend lowdown

I can't believe it has been a week since my last post. We have been busy with life and enjoying the most anticipated spring in the history of our lives. dramatic? Okay, a little. I have to say compared to all the horror stories I've heard about the winter's in Cleveland, I didn't find my first one all that bad. But, this warm-up couldn't have come soon enough for me. Over the last couple of days, temperatures have been in the ...wait for it... 80s! I have felt so much lighter on my feet, maybe because I am wearing flip flops?

::Thursday, April 1::

Chris had a birthday on Thursday.

Signs were hung, cake made and presents wrapped...but where was the birthday boy?

oh yeah, studying. again.

Poor guy had a test on his big day and a full day the next. Not to mention his all too familiar run-in with kidney pain, remember last year?. Luckily, he seems to be feeling better now. But we are still seeking answers from his doctor. We did have a visit from his cousin Drew and wife Ashlee and family for the night. It was a bright spot among the monotony of his day. So, thanks for coming guys!

::Friday, April 2::

I headed to the lake with a friend to soak up the sun. It was heaven.

And yes, I felt a twinge of guilt as I sunk my teeth into my pork burrito from Chipolte looking out at my lake front view while Chris was having a stressful day back at school. How thankful I am to have such a dedicated husband to spend 9ish hours in class/ working at the clinic on a day with 80-degree weather. However, we are both counting down the weeks left until summer vacation.

::Saturday, April 3::

Saturday we had a YW fundraiser for girls camp. It was a pancake breakfast & Easter egg hunt for families. Since conference doesn't start until noon here, we were able to have it all done and cleaned up before 11:30 AM, thanks to the Priesthood army and their event "take-down" skills. Success! During the event, I took pictures of the families in their Easter gear. Here are a few I have edited so far:

After the fundraiser, we ran some errands and took an accidental trip into the heart of the Cleveland ghetto, which is always a good time. (do you sense my sarcastic tone?)

Then, we went out to dinner to the "B Spot" to celebrate Chris's birthday. The restaurant is owned by one of the chefs on the food network and it did not disappoint. Super yum...we will be going back soon.

::Sunday, April 4th::
Isn't General Conference the best?

{HAPPY EASTER!}

Happy Easter to you too! Love the birthday love you gave Chris and the beach? REally? So jealous. What weather! We woke up to 3-4 inches of thick snow Easter morning. All melted now, but more on the way. Have a great one.

Happy Birthday Handsome Chris! I'm glad Katie could celebrate for you at the beach! The shot with those two girls on the two chairs is perfection.
