After receiving a call from my girl J last week, I decided to join her and Karli to make a surprise trip to Washington DC and visit our pal Callie while she is still attending Law school there. However by the time I arrived, Callie was pretty much expecting me since I now live the closest of the three. And since we were already in DC, we thought we better take a bus to NYC and visit our other bff Heather {more on that later}.
This is my trip photo diary: *warning - lots of pictures ahead
Meet Callie:
current residence: Washington DC.
Loves: newspapers, nutella, and the color yellow
She can: walk, talk, text, and type faster than you.

Enter Jennie & Karli:
Meet Jennie:Current Residence: Salt Lake City, UT
Loves: flip flops and frozen yogurt from Pinkberry
She can: tell you what you were wearing, who you were with and where you were going that one time a really really long time ago.
Meet Karli:
Current Residence: Las Vegas, NV
Loves: anything chocolate
She can: throw small paper objects with extreme accuracy (preferably at your face)

This was mine and Karli's first time in DC so we had to do all the touristy stuff.
First, we hit a bunch of the museums in a row: the Archives, the natural history museum and the Smithsonian (although that one doesn't count since we only had 4 minutes before closing to look around.)

Sure enough the lighting was great for a quick photo shoot by the fountains. So we took advantage.

Later that night, we visited some of the monuments all lit up. It was really dark and I couldn't quite keep my hands still enough for a clear picture of the Washington monument. But, I think these blurry ones look kind of cool.

The next morning we headed out to the National Cathedral. It was amazing. It reminded me of the Notre Dam Church in Paris.

the doors to the Cathedral were so rad, we couldn't resist a model pose or two. hehe.

the inside of the church was enormous with several levels. Apparently it took over 80 years to build. yowza!

Before we had to catch our bus to NYC we stopped by the White House.

New York here we come!
...
Enter Heather:
Meet Heather:
Current residence: New York City, NY
Loves: dogs, sleeping in, and her baby's daddy, Kevin
She Can: hail you a taxi with the best of 'em and cheer you up with just the sound of her voice.

We attempted some prego pics of her in the big apple but didn't end up having time for very many. These were the best ones I shot with the subway speeding by. {Thanks for indulging me hez!}

Had to pose in front of the 30 Rock sign.

Times square was bustling as usual. I love it there.
waiting in line to buy discount tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway!

grabbing some street cart grub before the big show.

inside the theater... I recommend Mary Poppins to anyone wanting to see a great show. It was so magical and fun. I loved it!

the next day we headed out to the:

time for another photo shoot!
I couldn't time the jumping picture just right. But, it was funny watching them attempt it multiple times.

Ground zero was very close to the bridge. We walked to the church where the firefighters found refuge during 9/11.
they are rebuilding ground zero so, all there is to see now is a fenced off construction site.

For our last meal together, Heather took us to one of the first NY pizzerias. It was classic thin crust new york style pizza. I fell in love.

As you can see, we had a blast. we always do.
{DC + NYC = good times!}
