white coat ceremony

Chris has been going to school for a couple of weeks now, and we are slowly settling into our new routine. I wanted to tell you about a cool ceremony they had the last day of his orientation. It is a welcome ceremony where they present the students with their first white coat and they all take an oath to basically live up to the expectations set for them here at school and in their future dental careers. I thought it was really special and a great way to kick off the years of hard work ahead.

It was held at this gorgeous chapel on campus.

I was the embarrassing wife taking pictures of things.

Chris waiting for his name to be called...it felt a lot like a graduation ceremony yet we were all so aware of how far we have to go to get to that day.

I apologize for the quality of the pics, I was not very close to the front and didn't feel like running up at this moment and embarrassing Chris even more. Even though I probably should have because someone's huge stroller was right in my view.

the class of 2013!

you can't tell from this picture but I was extremely under-dressed. I chose to wear jeans after Chris assured me it was a casual event. I stuck out like a sore thumb...but at least I was comfortable?

{so proud of him}

Congrats Chris!!! I think that was one thing I struggled with constantly. I was either over dressed or under dressed and Drew could have cared less which drove me crazy. The last year of law school I ended up wearing casual dresses to be on the safe side:)

Casual east of the rockies isn't quite the same as casual out west. the further east the more dressy casual is. Fun to see future Dr. Blacker in his white coat.
