Arts Festival

The Arts Festival this past Saturday was a lot of fun. I was so glad I participated as a vendor this year. It was so cool to see the "public's" reaction to Cheeky Cards. And as a bonus, I was able to sell quite a bit! What made it more fun was that my sister also sold her handmade cards with me.

My plans to "not deal with dimes & pennies" was foiled when we were visited by the Utah State Tax Commission at the start of the festival. Apparently, I am required to charge tax & mail them a check! that was a bummer.

The other downside was the weather...It was a little windy & rainy in the morning but it soon broke up & became sunny!

and before we knew it, by late afternoon, the thunder & lightning made its appearance in a bad way. Everyone was scrambling to cover their precious art. Luckily, my sister was there & helped me get all of our cards up off of the ground before the flood came through.

That storm just about wiped out the crowds & entertainment. The festival was cut short. It's too bad because it was a great opportunity to get Cheeky Cards out there.

I am still so glad I went, it will be the first of many festivals I hope :)

Glad to see that you are getting your designs out there, Katie. As I said before, I really like them!

Too bad you got rained out, though. Bummer. But nothing is really that much of a bummer when you've got Marianne there, right? (Hard to be gloomy when she's in the house.)

Sisters are a good thing.

Some kind of luck with the weather, but it looks like it was a success nonetheless. I'm glad your cards didn't get wet - yikes! Wish I could've been there to join in the sisterly fun. Your booth looked stylin - nice job!
