Our story begins long before our wedding day but, we'll start here, May 26, 2007. It was such a magical time full of so many people we love. After all the stress of planning, it turned out to be one flawless day that we will never forget.
In fact, thanks to our photographer, some of our pictures are featured in local Utah Magazines. As well as on some of our Vendor's websites. Pretty exciting!
Then we were off to our honeymoon in Maui! We rented a convertible and stayed at the Hyatt resort for a whole week. It was amazing. This was one of the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed.
We got pretty lucky with weather and everything. But, we did go on a little dinner cruise one night that wasn't such a success. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a sensitive stomach. I felt so sick and was counting down until it was over...lesson learned.
Here is Chris and I on the boat right when it left the shore. I have absolutely no idea at this point what a miserable experience it would turn out to be. (Don't worry, it's just lemonade.)
One month after our wedding we went to our friends wedding in Nauvoo. It was such a fun experience to see Nauvoo and all the history there. We visited Carthage Jail and the graves of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. Nauvoo is a very tiny town. It felt like it hadn't changed much since the 1800s; it was like stepping back in time.
*The picture above is from inside the jail. It is the window that Joseph Smith fell out of after he was shot
And my friend, Sarah's, wedding was gorgeous. I have to admit I was a little jealous of the first class treatment she received at the temple. When we walked into the temple, we were greeted with, "Are you here for the wedding?" (because there was only one that day!) We took our sweet time taking pictures etc. Much different from the Salt Lake Temple: the bride and groom factory.
We went on a Avondet family vacation to Newport Beach, California in September. Everyone came. We hit the beach, went to Disneyland, and ate some much missed California cuisine. I was the trip's official photographer and got some "to die for" pictures of my darling Nieces and nephews. Here are a few:

Then came Halloween. Chris and I didn't have big plans but we decided last minute that we were lame and should think of a way to celebrate the holiday. So we went to see my Sister's family and their costumes. I made Chris dress up, he wasn't too excited at first. We were BYU super fans! Pretty creative eh? I think he was glad in the long run.
Christmas time was so great. We were able to spend time with both families. Chris and I splurged and bought ourselves some nice gifts. I got him an ipod Touch, which he loves. And he got me...oh wait, I actually bought for myself! This way there was no disappointment Christmas morning. Isn't that the Christmas spirit! I bought myself some Ugg boots and a couple shirts. And we also bought a nice big screen TV. This has come in handy since Chris and I LOVE to watch movies. Of course, the time spent with our families was way more valuable to us then the gifts. We are so lucky to have such a loving support system.
So far, 2008 has been great!
Our first Valentine's day was a blast. We decided to get away, even if it was just at a hotel in Salt Lake. We stayed at the Little America and ate at one of our favorite places, PF Changs. Good stuff.
Chris went to Ohio late February to interview at Case Western for Dental School. He said it went really well. It's a good school so, we are praying that he gets accepted. He applied one year ago and we are still waiting on responses from schools. Our plan is to attend Dental school this Fall. But, for now, we just have to wait.
As you can tell, it has been one great adventure, full of blessings. Until next time...
